Maintenance & Warranty

Top Maintenance tips

1. Oil Check/ Top up:

Why should I check and top-up my oil?

Oil is to an engine what blood is to the human body – it simply can’t run without it. Engine oil acts as a cushion between moving parts, keeping engine components from coming into contact with each other, and providing protection from wear and tear.

Modern engines typically use approximately 1 litre of oil every 3,000* miles, so you need to check and top up oil levels between services. Aim to check the oil level every month – and always before a long journey.

Please refer to your Warranty & Maintenance Handbook for further advice.

What does engine oil do?

In simple terms, it lubricates, protects, cleans and cools your engine.
As well as reducing friction and preventing wear and tear, the oil cleans the engine of deposits, picking up any damaging debris which is sieved out through the oil filter. It also helps to transfer heat from inside the engine to maintain a safe operating temperature.

2. Brake:

The trouble with brakes

The brake discs, pads, drums, shoes and fluid all need to work well if you want to feel confident you can stop your car safely. Here are some signs of possible problems:

  • The brake pedal feels either softer or stiffer than usual
  • The car or the brake pedal judders when you stop the car
  • Your car pulls to one side as you brake

If you experience any of the above, contact your local Isuzu dealer as soon as possible to arrange for them to check the condition of your braking system.

3. Brake fluid:

More important than you knew

Did you know your brake fluid:

  • Gradually absorbs water, making your brakes feel "soft"?
  • Could lead to costly repairs if it gets too low?
  • Needs replacing every two years?
